The exam consists of 100 objective questions to be completed in 60 minutes. The difficulty level and sequence of questions will be randomized by an AI tool based on student performance. Candidates are allowed three attempts; the best score from these attempts will be used for the final merit list. Each attempt will incur a separate exam fee.

Critical thinking, vision, design skills, aesthetic sense, observation & memory, scale & proportion, and basic design principles will also be assessed. Each student is required to upload a 10-page portfolio in color and PDF format via the provided link. A team of design experts will evaluate the portfolios and categorize the students based on their personal and design traits. Candidates will face a series of questions through an automated chatbot-enabled interview in a designated interview space. In today's world, design goes beyond mere aesthetics. It's about unleashing creativity to influence how we interact with our surroundings. Whether it’s the clothing we wear, the spaces we inhabit, or the products we use, design plays a vital role in enhancing our lives.

The design industry in India is thriving, expanding at an impressive annual rate of 23 to 25%. Despite this rapid growth, there is a significant shortage of skilled designers. India requires over 62,000 designers for various fields, including fashion, communication, interior design, and graphic design. However, there are currently only around 7,000 qualified designers in the country. This gap presents a tremendous opportunity for aspiring designers.

If you're contemplating a career in design, there's an exciting array of options to explore. You can become a fashion designer, setting trends that influence how people dress. Alternatively, you might be interested in communication design, where you can use visuals to narrate compelling stories. Interior design allows you to transform spaces into environments that people cherish. Graphic design revolves around visual communication, while game and animation design offers limitless creative possibilities. Product design involves developing innovative solutions to everyday challenges, and textile design lets you experiment with patterns and fabrics. In the digital space, UX (User Experience) design focuses on improving the usability and enjoyment of websites and applications. Even transportation design, which shapes the future of vehicles and mobility, is a captivating field to explore.

The demand for designers in these sectors is projected to increase in the coming years. Fashion design is expected to grow at an annual rate of 9.7%, while interior design is projected to rise by 8.5% by 2025. Graphic design is also on the upswing, with an anticipated growth of 5% by 2026.

To kick off your journey into the design world, consider taking the All India Design Aptitude Test (AIDAT) 2025. This exam opens doors to over 50 design colleges across India, offering more than 300 courses to choose from. These institutions also provide free career and education counseling to assist you in finding the ideal fit for your goals.

So, if you have a passion for creativity and a desire to shape the world around you, a career in design could be your gateway to an exciting and fulfilling future.

The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has raised concerns across various industries, with discussions about machines potentially replacing human jobs. Over the past four years, AI has surged by 270% across many sectors. In the design realm, worries have emerged not only among tech professionals but also within the UX (User Experience design) field, leading to questions such as:

The answer to this frequently asked question is a resounding ‘No’. While AI has indeed become a powerful tool across industries, it will not eliminate the need for human designers. Instead, AI will act as a valuable resource, empowering designers and enhancing the quality of their work.

The essence of exceptional UX design relies on qualities that AI inherently lacks: creativity, empathy, and critical thinking. AI can never fully replace human input. Why is that? Let’s explore:

Though AI isn’t quite there yet, UX designers shouldn't remain passive and hope it will stay that way indefinitely. UX designers who integrate AI into their workflow will likely outpace their peers who don’t. It’s about utilizing available tools to enhance skills and achieve better outcomes. Therefore, while AI won’t fully replace UX designers, it will redefine their roles. The question becomes: How will you adjust your skills in the age of artificial intelligence?

Aspiring UX/UI designers can begin their journey by taking the All India Design Aptitude Test (AIDAT) entrance exam 2025. AIDAT serves as a gateway to unlocking opportunities and refining skills in the rapidly evolving field of UX/UI design. Thus, while AI may not overshadow human designers, it undoubtedly compels them to evolve and harness the transformative power of technology. The future awaits - are you ready to embrace it?
