CEED

04 Aug, 2025 — CEED 2026 is scheduled for January 18, 2026. Notification published on October 1, 2025 at uceed.iitb.ac.in. Check here.

CEED is a national entrance test organised by IIT Bombay for the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to grant admission to M.Des and Ph.D. design programs at top institutes such as IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad and others. Admission to postgraduate design courses is determined by CEED 2025 scores followed by institute interviews.

IIT Bombay published the CEED 2025 cutoff using mean and standard deviation: Part A recorded a mean score of 45.48 with a standard deviation of 16.98.

CEED 2025 included both online and offline components. Part A was administered as a computer-based test, while Part B was held offline. Only candidates who qualified Part A had their Part B answer booklets evaluated.

Final CEED 2025 scores were calculated by assigning 25% weight to Part A and 75% weight to Part B. Part A scores were released for all candidates, whereas Part B results and ranks were shown only for those shortlisted after Part A.

Part A served as a qualifying test in CEED 2025, with the qualifying cutoff announced in February 2025 and indicated using a standard deviation (11.16) and mean deviation (18.62). Candidates who met the Part A cutoff had their Part B papers assessed manually.

For candidates shortlisted after Part A, Part B answer books were manually evaluated. The merit list for CEED 2025 was based exclusively on Part B scores.

Participating institutes publish their own CEED 2025 cutoffs. Each institute's cutoff depends on factors like the number of applicants, seats available, and preferred programs, and may also reflect the institute's minimum qualifying marks.
