Candidates must appear for CUET UG in May 2025 and meet the required cutoff to apply for the DU LLB course. The application form will be available at https://lawfaculty.du.ac.in/. Seats are allocated through a three-round counselling process conducted by Delhi University, based on your choices, merit and seat availability.
To be eligible for DU LLB you must meet the minimum academic criteria. Unreserved/OBC-NCL/EWS applicants need 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates require 45% aggregate. There is no age limit for admission to the DU LLB program.
The syllabus covers five areas: General Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English, General Awareness/Current Affairs and Computer. A detailed syllabus breakdown is provided below for reference.
Admission requires qualifying the CUET UG exam by taking the ‘COQP 11’ paper. The paper contains 75 MCQs, with +4 marks for each correct answer and –1 for each incorrect one. The total marks are 300 and the duration is 105 minutes. Questions span General Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English, General Awareness/Current Affairs and Computer.
The paper is generally of moderate to high difficulty, so start preparing at least six months in advance. Simply clearing the qualifying mark may not be enough for admission — aim for 250+ to be safe. For quantitative topics, practice all basic areas regularly; R.S. Agarwal is a useful resource. Key topics include numbers, simplification, LCM & HCF and core arithmetic like percentages, averages, profit & loss. Timed practice will improve speed and accuracy on exam day.
For English, Wren & Martin is recommended for grammar and Norman Lewis for vocabulary. The English section typically tests fundamentals, so thorough study of these books is helpful. Read newspapers to stay current on economy, politics, personalities and books for General Awareness/Current Affairs, or use curated PDF compilations online. Static GK carries significant weight; Lucent’s General Knowledge book is a good reference. Computer questions are usually basic (around 14–15 questions), so NCERT text is generally sufficient.
The registration fee is INR 1,500 for Unreserved/OBC-NCL/EWS applicants and INR 1,000 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. A detailed fee breakdown is provided in the tables below.
Cutoffs change yearly and are not fixed; the table below shows expected trends and tentative cutoff ranges by category.
