The Karnataka Examinations Authority has opened KCET counselling 2025 on the official portal cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ugcet2025. The final allotment for Round 2 was published on August 30, 2025, after 1 PM.
KEA announced the KCET 2025 results on May 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM on their portal cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea. Along with the result, the authority released KCET scorecards and the list of toppers for 2025. Candidates can download their scorecards by signing in with their application number and password.
Over 3.3 lakh candidates registered for KCET 2025; around 3.11 lakh appeared for the exam and approximately 2.75 lakh candidates qualified for admissions to courses in Karnataka.

KEA will publish the KCET 2025 result on kea.kar.nic.in on May 24, 2025. Candidates can view their results online by logging in via the KCET 2025 login area using their registration number and date of birth. Qualified candidates will be called to participate in the subsequent counselling rounds.
NOTE: KEA has not specified a fixed minimum marks cutoff for KCET 2025. The rank/merit list is compiled by giving equal weight to marks from the qualifying examination (PCM/PCB) and the KCET papers.
KEA releases the KCET 2025 rank or merit list along with the result. Both KCET marks and qualifying exam scores are considered when preparing the merit list. The methodology used to determine KCET 2025 ranks is explained below:
The KCET 2025 Marks vs Rank analysis helps you estimate the rank corresponding to your expected score. Use the ranges below — based on previous years’ patterns — to predict where your KCET score may place you.
KCET Cutoff 2025 refers to the minimum marks needed to be eligible for admission. Each participating college sets its own cutoffs for various courses. KEA will publish the KCET 2025 cutoff after the results are out. You can check the official site and begin counselling registration once cutoffs are available.
Until the official KCET 2025 cutoffs are released, refer to last year’s college-wise cutoff details below for leading institutions in Karnataka.
KEA will conduct KCET 2025 counselling for candidates who clear the exam. The counselling process includes registration, document verification, choice filling, and seat allotment. To take part, candidates must register, get documents verified, submit and lock their options, and report to the allotted institute. KEA generally holds two counselling rounds, with additional rounds if seats remain vacant.
After the results are published, candidates should prepare the documents required for KCET 2025 counselling in advance; a checklist is provided later in this article.
KEA has opened an objection window for KCET 2025 question papers for candidates who wish to raise concerns. Reports indicated that around 15–20% of questions were out of the prescribed syllabus — including 7 questions in Mathematics and 10 in Biology.
To support such grievances, KEA enabled the KCET 2025 question objection window from April 2025. Objections can be sent by email to [email protected] with clear justification. See the official notice below for full details.

The total marks for KCET are 180 for each PCM and PCB paper. Candidates appearing for PCMB (typically farm science students) will have a total of 240 marks in KCET 2025.

See: Detailed eligibility criteria for KCET 2025
Note: KCET 2025 is open only to Karnataka candidates. Students from other states are not eligible to apply for engineering admissions through KCET; they may consider COMEDK UGET 2025 for admission to colleges in Karnataka.
The KCET 2025 syllabus covers chapters from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology across PUC-I and PUC-II. The syllabus was reduced by about 30% following changes to the PUC curriculum. Refer to the chapter-wise KCET 2025 syllabus below.

KEA issued the KCET 2025 admit card on April 6, 2025, at kea.kar.nic.in. Although the admit card was expected on April 7, KEA released it a day early on April 6. To download your KCET hall ticket, enter your Login ID or Registration Number and password. The admit card includes your name, KCET number, exam date, exam timings, and centre details.
Carry your KCET admit card and one valid photo ID to the exam centre. Entry will not be permitted without the hall ticket.
On exam day, bring an original photo ID and a blue/black ballpoint pen alongside your admit card. Follow all KCET 2025 exam day rules and KEA advisories.
KCET 2025 is conducted using OMR answer sheets. A model of the OMR sheet is provided in the section below.
The KCET OMR sheet consists of two pages. The top sheet is for marking answers; the bottom sheet is returned to candidates after the exam.
The lower sheet contains a special chemical layer acting like carbon paper. When a candidate darkens an option on the top sheet, the impression transfers to the bottom sheet by pressure.
Q. What details are required to check KCET results online?
A. Candidates can view their KCET 2025 results on kea.kar.nic.in. To log in, students need their registration number and the first five characters of their name.
Q. Can I request a re-evaluation of the KCET result?
A. Yes. KEA permits applications for re-evaluation or re-checking within three days of result publication. Candidates can also raise objections to the answer key, which will be made available on the official website.
Q. What happens after the KCET result is announced?
A. After results, KEA begins the KCET counselling process on the official portal. Qualified candidates must complete counselling registration, then proceed with choice filling and locking. Seat allotment results will be published after choices are finalized. Candidates allotted seats must report to the institute for fee payment and document verification.
Q. How is the KCET merit list for 2025 prepared?
A. The KCET merit list is formed by considering marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in KCET 2025, combined with qualifying exam scores as per the published criteria.
Q. What rank can I expect with a score of 156?
A. A score of 156 may correspond roughly to a rank in the 51–60 range. KCET’s full marks are 180. To aim for a top-10 rank, you would typically need more than 167 marks. Use the KCET marks vs rank analysis for a clearer estimate.
Q. How is KCET rank calculated?
A. KCET ranking is based on a combined score: 50% weightage for class 12 marks and 50% for KCET exam marks. The merit list reflects this combined evaluation.
Q. For how long is the KCET rank valid?
A. The KCET rank is valid only for the admission session in which the exam was taken. You cannot use a previous year’s KCET score to seek admission in a later year; you must reappear in the year you seek admission.
