Merit lists will be prepared using the normalization method. The counselling window is set from 25 June to 2 July 2025.
To boost your chances of getting a preferred branch at NMIMS, target strong section-wise scores (each section is out of 40) in the NPAT exam.
For guidance, aim for about 26–28 in Quantitative & Numerical Ability, 32–35 in Reasoning & General Intelligence, and 34–36 in the English Language section to improve your admission prospects.
BBA seats are available at the following campuses: Mumbai (600), Bengaluru (120), Navi Mumbai (180), Indore (120), Hyderabad (60), Dhule (60), and Chandigarh (120).
This article covers the NPAT 2025 normalization process, expected cutoffs, and the merit list.

24 June, 2025
The NPAT 2025 results will be posted on the official website npat.nmims.edu on 24 June 2025. The result announcement was postponed from the earlier date of 23 June. Merit lists will be released separately for undergraduate programs such as BBA, BSc Economics, BCom, BSc Finance, and BBA FinTech.
Candidates can view and download their NPAT 2025 scorecards by signing in with their NPAT ID and date of birth.
The NPAT 2025 scorecard will include section-wise scores, normalized marks and the overall percentile.
When the exam runs in multiple shifts (one main attempt plus up to two retakes), NMIMS applies a normalization method to balance differences in difficulty across shifts. This adjustment ensures fair comparison and is used to compute each candidate’s percentile.
For example:
Thus the candidate's percentile would be 90, indicating they performed better than 90% of test takers.
Expected cutoffs vary by program. Competitive programs such as B.Sc. Finance and BBA generally have higher cutoffs (around 71–80) due to strong demand. Programs like B.Com (Hons) and B.Sc. Economics typically see moderate cutoffs near 65–67. Specialized or niche programs such as BBA – Branding & Advertising, B.A. (Hons) Liberal Arts/Studies, and BBA – International Studies usually have lower cutoffs in the 50–60 range. BBMM (Marketing & Management) often records one of the lowest cutoffs around 50–52.
To improve the likelihood of admission into preferred branches at NMIMS, focus on maximizing attempts and accuracy across all sections; recommended targets by section are provided below.
The first merit list for each program (BBA, BSc Economics, BCom, BSc Finance, BBA FinTech) will be published on 24 June 2025 on the official site, with subsequent lists released between June and July 2025.
Rankings are based on normalized scores, and where multiple attempts are allowed the best performance is considered for final ranking.
NMIMS NPAT counselling will be conducted offline at various NMIMS campuses between 25 June 2025 and 2 July 2025.
Centralised counselling sessions for campuses such as Mumbai, Shirpur, Navi Mumbai, Indore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh (for candidates who missed earlier sessions) will be organised at MPSTME Mumbai.
In some cases, counselling and admission activities for Indore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh may be held on their respective campuses to reduce travel for candidates.
Candidates are required to carry the original documents listed by NMIMS when attending counselling sessions.
With over 2,500 seats across all campuses, admission is highly competitive; historically fewer than 4% of applicants secure a seat.
According to the NPAT 2025 seat matrix, NMIMS Mumbai offers the largest intake and hosts a full range of programs including BBA, BBMM, BBA – Branding & Advertising, and BBA – International Business.
Programs such as B.Sc. Finance and B.Com are offered across most campuses, while courses like Liberal Arts, Branding & Advertising and International Business are primarily available at NMIMS Mumbai.

NMIMS does not publish an official cutoff for NPAT; merit lists are drawn from candidates' marks and seat allocation is carried out based on the merit order and preferred choices submitted by candidates.
