25 Aug 2025 — The WB CAP 2025 timetable has been updated on wbcap.in. The upgrade-round seat allotment will be released on August 31, 2025. See details below.
The West Bengal Department of Higher Education has launched the Centralised Admission portal for the 2025–26 academic session. Counselling dates and related information are available at wbcap.in. The WB CAP 2025 Phase‑1 upgrade-round seat allotment is scheduled for release on August 31, 2025 (after 5 PM).
WB CAP 2025 handles undergraduate admissions across 16 universities and 461 government and government‑aided colleges through a single online portal. To take part in the counselling, applicants must have passed the 10+2 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board.
Prospective students must register on the WB CAP portal, create their profile, and upload required documents to enter the counselling process. The portal will generate merit lists by institution and course. Seats are allotted based on rank, preferences, and availability, and candidates may be allowed to upgrade to higher preferences if vacancies arise.
The UG counselling for general degree courses in 2025–26 will be held in two main phases. After these rounds, remaining vacancies will be filled by individual colleges directly in a standalone mode.
