The WBJEE 2025 result release was postponed due to pending cases at the Calcutta High Court. The court directed WBJEEB to publish a fresh merit list incorporating the 7% reservation for 66 OBC categories recognized since 2010.

Originally, the WBJEE 2025 result was scheduled for June 6, 2025 but was delayed for OBC verification surveys. A later date of August 7, 2025 was announced but the release was put on hold after a directive from the Calcutta High Court halted declaration and counselling pending further legal proceedings.

The WBJEE 2025 answer key was published on May 9, 2025. Candidates were allowed to raise objections until May 11, 2025 (11:59 PM) by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 500. Final results are prepared after reviewing all objections against the provisional key.

The WBJEE 2025 examination was conducted on April 27, 2025 in two shifts: Paper I (Mathematics) from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Paper II (Physics & Chemistry) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The exam was generally reported as easy to moderate. Official question paper and solution PDFs are available via the links below.

In WBJEE 2024, 142,694 candidates appeared and 112,963 cleared the exam, registering a high overall qualification rate. The highest numbers of qualifiers came from North 24 Parganas (10,489), East Midnapore (7,331) and West Midnapore (7,079).

Solving past years’ question papers not only helps you understand the exam pattern but also highlights topics that carry high weightage. Analyzing previous papers gives an idea of expected question distribution. Links to the last eight years’ PYQs with solutions are provided to aid preparation.

Candidates preparing for WBJEE 2025 can follow the tips below to improve performance and streamline their preparation:

Start by reviewing the WBJEE 2025 exam pattern thoroughly to understand paper structure, marking scheme and question types.

Familiarise yourself with the WBJEE 2025 syllabus to focus on relevant topics and avoid unnecessary material.

Create a personalised study timetable allocating specific slots for each subject and daily revision to maintain consistency.

While studying, take concise notes of key formulas and concepts for quick revision before the exam.

Regular mock tests will help you get accustomed to the exam format and improve time management. Use mocks to identify weak areas and work on them.

Daily revision is essential to retain concepts. Dedicate time each day to revisit previously studied topics.

Students can follow the two-month study plan outlined below for focused preparation:

Question 1. Which are the top 5 WBJEE colleges?

Answer - Based on recent rankings and reputation, the leading five engineering colleges in West Bengal include established government and university-affiliated institutions known for academics, facilities and placements.

These colleges are recognised for their strong academic programs, campus infrastructure and placement records.

Question 2. Is WBJEE only for West Bengal students?

Answer - WBJEE is open primarily to Indian citizens. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) may apply but are eligible only for unreserved seats under the All India quota. Candidates must have passed the 12th standard (10+2) or equivalent before 2025 or be appearing in 2025. Minimum age is 17 years as on December 31, 2025.

Question 3. Which rank is best for WBJEE?

Answer - Lower ranks increase the likelihood of admission to top colleges. For instance, a rank within the top 1000 greatly improves chances for premier institutions like Jadavpur University. Required ranks vary by college and course.

Question 4. Is a Score of 20 Good in WBJEE?

Answer - A score of 20 is generally low for WBJEE. Top colleges usually require much higher marks; candidates scoring over 100 have a stronger chance for admission to reputed institutions. Exact cutoffs depend on course and category.
